I have been looking for one and I want to know if I can convert it to save money and the environment. If not can I do that to the late 1990s Chevy Silverado?

Rick is right. Finding a kit to convert will be the hard part. One place you might try is a fork lift parts supplier.(for the propane conversion) Propane forklifts have been around forever, and it might be well worth time to investigate that route. And propane is accessible.
