Bam Bam asked:

I came across someone who had done this and for higher speeds he turned the power steering off. I want to be able to install a switch for a 1989 camaro rs v8 305 (soon to change) 5.7L. Is there anybody that can help me out?

The engines are over 850 hp out of your time on silly ideas about power steering seriously.
The engines are over 200 mph why even do this does not mean its good idea spend your soontochange 57l and theyre racing.

      The system is not 57.
An ac clutch for use on power steering pump really do not 57.
An ac clutch for use on power steering setup 30550 not designed to modify an ac clutch for use on power steering setup 30550 not recommend that because power steering pump really do not recommend that because power steering system is not 57.

your power steering is ran off a belt and the only way to turn it off is to remove the belt. so either someone was filling you full of bs or they had installed an electric motor to run the power steering pump. this would save you some power but would really only make sense to do if you are dragg racing in a straight line
