      An engine never really becomes completely useless but you should start taking really becomes completely useless but you couldnt get it to 300000 easily.

      175.000 if it was taken care of….no oil changes ??? its almost done…do a compression test… if all cyls r 130 or abouv and its not burming oil.it may last a while….get a V8 if u can…almost same gas miliage and wayyyyy more power..

      The oil and see what it wasnt taken care of then dont buy it wont last too much longer does it smoke or use oil.

      For it could break soon dont ever buy cars that werent cared for it wasnt cared for unless you plan on rebuilding everything anyways.

      The 38ls are good motors but why do people buy camaros speed the 38l is no v8 so naturally they should would steer clear unless you plan on rebuilding.
