My 95 camaro’s radiator has rust in it. What could cause this, is it normal with this model of camaro?

The consitancy was like mustard, it looked like muddy creek water. When we would turn the car off we could hear boiling and bubbling in the radiator. When we got it back from the shop the mechanic said we had rust in the radiator. This is the second time we have had to have the radiator flushed within the past two years. Is this normal for this model of camaro?

Sometimes it’s necessary to flush every year on an older car.

Rust can develop if the mixture of coolant to water is not right. You should run 50% coolant, 50% water. Too much water will make it corrode. Also, the orange coolant makes things way worse and can turn everything into mud - if you’re using that you need to flush it out and only use green. Lastly, once rust starts to form it’s difficult to make it stop. You may continue having this problem until you replace the radiator.

You shouldn’t hear boiling and bubbling in the radiator, the mix is wrong.
You need to take it some where else if it’s from the same place.
You don’t have to do a 50-50 mix you can add more antifreeze, but I don’t know how much more.
You will have to find out in the user manual.
Also check the radiator cap, if it loses pressure it will over heat your car.
