The long search for the 1971 Chevrolet Camaro has ended. Finally, Papa John’s pizza chain founder and owner has reunited with his beloved car which he sold many years ago just to save the family’s business from closing. The proceeds from selling his 1971 Camaro was used to save his father’s tavern and he also launched Papa John’s. Papa John’s pizza today is one of the leading pizza businesses in the United States.
He missed his Camaro and he spent many years finding it. He even created a Web site devoted for the search of his car and offered $250,000 cash to anyone who will find it. Having reunited with his car was very emotional for John Schnatter and to show his gratitude, he gave free pizza on that day to any Camaro owner who visited his pizza chain. He also gave $25,000 to the person who tracked the car down.

John Schnatter, owner of Papa John’s pizza spent days in confirming that the Camaro was really his. They pulled out ownership records of the car and verified its authenticity. As promised, $250,000 was given to the recent owner of the car
According to Schnatter, the Camaro is a representation of what he gave up years ago just start his Papa John’s pizza. Selling the beloved car was a great sacrifice and now it represents the roots of a successful business. He added that when he started the business, success was not expected and that he did not hope to get the Camaro back someday.
