What are the reasons people want to buy a Dodge Challenger or Chevy Camaro?

Not too far out of college, I’m just starting to look at cars. I’ve heard a lot of buzz about the re-releases of the Challenger and Camaro. So I’m curious, for those who are considering buying them, what are your primary reasons? Is it to have fun driving? To make a statement? What kind of statement? As someone who isn’t a car guy (at least not yet) - would I come off as a “poser” with a challenger/camaro?

The modern conveniencesand nothing sounds like v8 at full tilt.
