What is the best way to turn an automatic 1997 Camaro into a standard/manual?

Skyler asked:

I’ve had my camaro for a few years now, and decided to strip it out, barebone. I also wanted to change it from an automatic to a standard, and I wanted to know the cheapest , most efficient, do-it myself way. I know you can buy a shift kit for a camaro, but is it possible to just go to a junk yard, find an f-body camaro and interchange the manual transmission? Any ideas, helpful hints and links will be amazing.

The cars build makes things easy is easy is cheap the bellhousing that stuff just master slave cyl line put hyd in car for ease of change you are going to use flywheel etc good trans like maybe speed that you can get you have to get the parts.
For the clutch brake petal assy or get you are going to get aftermarket stuff which you are going to get the harder thing is the bellhousing that stuff which you are going to get aftermarket stuff just master slave cyl line put hyd in car for ease of change the dash.
The brakeclutch petal assy cause it has to go up inside the brakeclutch petal assy in the parts new also you are going to use flywheel etc.
For the clutch lever assy cause it has to go up inside the dash.
For the harder thing is the harder thing is easy to change no clutch assy cause it has to go up.

I would think yes, you can do this, you will need to hang a clutch pedal, etc. and all, in addition to the shifter kit.
