I’m trying to lift an engine on a 1997 Camaro so I can replace the oil pan gasket. I have an engine hoist, but I’m not sure where to attach it, as I’ve never done this before. Any suggestions?

Not completely sure, but pretty sure you have to drop front crossmember and then engine can be removed from under car. Those engines are tucked in their and I would think that if you want to remove it from the top you would have to dissassemble the front of the car. Try removing the front crossmember, that might give you instant access to the oil pan.
